Abstract

There are eight papers in this special issue: physiological adaptations of crayfish to the hypoxic environment; physiological adaptations of freshwater crayfishes that permit successful aquacultural enterprises; physiological adaptations in the gastrointestinal tract of crayfish; neural adaptation in crayfish; regulation of the cardiovascular system in crayfish; ion regulation in crayfish-freshwater adaptations and the problem of molting; crustacean immunity and complement; endocrine mechanisms in crayfish, with emphasis on reproduction and neurotransmitter regulation of hormone release. -S.R.Harris
