Quantum gases come of age

Research output: Contribution to specialist publicationArticle

Abstract

A review on ultracold quantum gases was presented. The properties of quantum-degenerate gas resulted from the weak interactions between the atoms. Condensates were used to build a quantum computer in which information was stored and processed using the quantum states of atoms. Condensates were also produced on substrates containing miniature wires or 'atom chips'.
