Abstract
The purpose of this article was to provide a research proposal which offers a way of how a group of online instructors can build a set of practical, empirically-based guidelines that have emerged from a knowledge of community. This presentation will discuss outlines of building knowledge of community in a context of an action research, focused on improving the quality of teaching through reflecting and observing peers within 4 members of the faculty. Some remarks are offered in relation to the constructivism, action research and communities of practice as drivers of pedagogical improvement.
