Abstract
The use of diet manipulation as a potential ergogenic aid is prevalent in high school and college athletes. Many athletes experiment with their diet in order to find something that might give them a competitive edge. However, studies have indicated that most athletes, particularly women, generally make poor dietary choices and thus are more susceptible to nutrient inadequacies (Clark, 1991: Clarkson and Haynes, 1994).
