Abstract

Social cognitive theory is a theoretical framework that seeks to explain the reciprocal processes between personal, behavioral, and environmental factors that shape human behavior and development. Scholars have widely employed this broad theory across the social sciences (e.g., education and psychology) to explain why and how individuals learn from their interactions both with others and their environments. Research has also examined the role self-regulation and self-efficacy play in personal and professional success.
