Abstract
Presentation given at the Gulf South Summit. A Georgia Southern University collaboration is expanding service-learning opportunities for students and faculty members by training students as teaching colleagues. The Service-Learning Student Facilitator Certification was launched in fall 2011. Students train as facilitators, working with faculty to execute meaningful service-learning projects to transform the lives of the campus and local communities. This panel will feature program coordinators and student facilitators, describing their experiences in developing an effective, energizing and highly replicable program.
