Abstract
By considering a French experiment with Casyopee, this paper examines the theoretical frameworks underpinning its pedagogical plan, the first-adaptor teachers’ experience with the tasks and tools, and the challenges of disseminating the tool to mid-adaptor teachers. It emphasizes conceptual development through inquiry into big ideas and professional development driven by sound principles.
