Abstract

An interview with University of Missouri journalism professor Betty Houchin Winfield is presented. She discusses her background and interest in the study of journalism history and mass media history, her scholarship in the field, and her thoughts on classroom teaching. She states that it is important for journalists to understand their roots and that such an understanding can give journalism students confidence.
