Abstract

The Topp-Leone-exponentiated half logistic-generalized-G family of distributions is proposed and studied. Several mathematical and statistical properties of the new family of distributions, including quantile function, linear representation of the density function, moments, moment generating function, probability weighted moments, distribution of the ith-order statistics and Rényi entropy are presented. Special cases of the new family of distribution are also discussed. The unknown parameters of the Topp-Leone-exponentiated half logistic-generalized-G family of distributions are estimated via the maximum likelihood, and a Monte Carlo simulation is conducted to examine the consistency and efficiency of the parameter estimates. Finally, the applicability and flexibility of the new family of distributions is demonstrated by means of applications to two real data sets.
