Abstract
Two cores were collected from two locations in Elakader landfill site to find out the difference in concentration at different depths for heavy metals and other variables. The soil samples processed in the laboratory and the results show variations in concentration as follows: 2 PH Salinity Cl Na Fe Pb Cu Zn location 8.6 662-3260 mg/l 25-378 ppm 10.000-18.000 ppm 5.293-50.924 ppm 39-114 ppm 23-339 ppm 104-506 ppm location 7.75 995-3256 mg/l 53-368 ppm 9.000-25.000 ppm 34.512-66.750 ppm 56-603 ppm 55-975 ppm 235-583 ppm Our statistical analysis for the two core samples show that there are statistical differences in means concentration between the two locations of some of the studied metals and other variables. These variables are Ec, Fe, Zn, Pb, Ca, and Na. However, mean difference in concentration for K and Ca are marginally statistically significant.
