N2 - Construction 4.0 (C4.0) technologies have numerous benefits to the architectural, engineering, and construction (AEC) industry. To achieve the full potential of C4.0 technologies, firms and organizations are required to invest in developing workforce hard and soft skills. The shortage of additional skilled human resources hinders the effective implementation of C4.0 technologies as these technologies demand advanced skills compared to traditional practices in the AEC industry. This study aims to explore workforce skills, hard and soft, to adopt C4.0 technologies effectively. For this purpose, a systematic literature review has been conducted. The results demonstrate that critical thinking, problem-solving, teamwork, communication, and self-management are essential soft skills to achieve a successful transition of C4.0 across the industry. The findings of this study will help firms and organizations in the AEC sector invest in training programs by collaborating with educational institutions to develop necessary skills in their workforce.
